Amputation program

Of the persons served with an amputation, we see about seven percent who have had amputations of part of a limb, usually part of the leg. To help lessen the effects of impairment, we use a holistic approach, teaching people with limb loss to be more self-sufficient and to adjust to a different lifestyle. Our program emphasizes independence in mobility, pursuit of leisure opportunities and the successful accomplishment of daily activities. Persons served and their families are educated about prosthetics (artificial limbs).
