Truly above and beyond.

No one goes hungry on KeV’ann Jarman’s watch. She starts each day by checking in with her patients, making sure all their needs are met. She even makes a point to ensure that her patients have eaten. And if they haven’t, she makes sure they do. KeV’ann Jarman is a ECU Health team member who truly goes above and beyond the call of duty for her patients.

Teaching More than Medical Students

Years ago, when her grandfather was ill, Jarman was inspired by the nurses who cared for him. They made him and his family feel as if he was their only patient. Now an Emergency Department nurse at ECU Health Medical Center, Jarman strives to help others in the exact same way. That passion is evident in how she takes the time to educate patients on their care, helping them to recognize what is normal and what may be problematic, and coaching them on preventative lifestyle choices that can keep them out of the ED in the future.

“There Are Endless Opportunities at ECU Health”

Having worked at a smaller hospital outside of the ECU Health system, Jarman has seen firsthand what separates ECU Health from other health systems. “People want to be recognized for what they do,” she says. “At other hospitals, you don’t get that recognition.” But at ECU Health, she does. Because of that, Jarman takes every opportunity that is sent her way. Add to that the personal success she feels when she sees her patients out in the world–happy, healthy, and away from the hospital–and it’s easy to see why Jarman is grateful and excited to call ECU Health “home.”
