Find relief for your allergy or asthma so you can enjoy an active lifestyle.

Millions of people of all ages live with allergies or asthma. Although more common in children, a first-time occurrence can happen at any age and can recur after years without symptoms.

Allergies originate from numerous sources, including grass and pollen, animal dander, insect venom, food and drugs, immune disorders and more. From chronic breathing issues to severe skin rashes, allergies can cause many health issues and impact your quality of life.

Asthma is a common chronic disease that affects more than 25 million adults and children in our country. Treatment for people of all ages can be highly successful with appropriate and complete care. Vidant Health offers a comprehensive Pediatric Asthma Program that helps you recognize, prevent and control your child’s asthma symptoms with specialized education, tools and support resources.

Why Vidant Allergy & Asthma?

Our allergy and asthma specialists have several office locations throughout eastern North Carolina.

At Vidant Health, we use the latest tests and technologies available. We understand that every person’s condition is different, so we take time to develop a personalized treatment plan for you. Beyond clinical testing and treatment, we focus on educating you on the causes, symptoms and care of your condition, including lifestyle changes and trigger avoidance.

Modified Quantitative Testing (MQT) skin testing involves small needle sticks for each allergen being tested, and immunotherapy allergy shots will be prescribed based on results. We test and treat for 33 different inhalant allergens, including trees, grasses, weeds, molds, dust and animal dander. These allergens can also be tested via a radioallergosorbent (RAST) test. In addition, Vidant offers blood tests to check for certain food allergies.

Our online patient portal makes it easy for you and your care team to review important health information, request prescription refills, view lab results, request appointments, access follow-up care, send a message to your doctor and much more.
