We're here to help you if you've suffered a stroke, but we also spend time in the community educating people about the risks of stroke and how to avoid suffering one. You can contact our staff for any of the following.
You can start lowering your risk now by knowing your numbers for blood pressure and cholesterol. Vidant Medical Center offers screenings throughout the year where you can learn these numbers and how to lower them. Terry Congleton, stroke nurse educator, is available to conduct screenings throughout the community. If you're interested in having a screening, call her at 252-847-0162 or by e-mail at email@example.com .
Members of the Vidant Medical Center staff are also available to speak at community events. To have a speaker come to your event, call 252-847-2152.
The stroke support group at Vidant Medical Center provides socialization, support and education for people who have had a stroke and their families. This group meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Rehabilitation Center classroom. Call 252-847-2152 for more information about this group.
To transfer a stroke patient to Vidant Medical Center, please call ReferDirect at 800-816-7264.
