    At Chowan Pediatrics, our services are designed to meet your child’s primary health care needs. We take a family-centered approach to care and value your input in making health decisions for your child. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We encourage patients to schedule appointments in advance, but try to accommodate same day visits as scheduling permits.     Bart Resta, MD

    Dr. Resta, a board certified pediatrician, joined Chowan Pediatrics in the spring of 2008. He received his medical degree in 1981 from Ohio State University and completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In addition to having more than 20 years of pediatric experience, Dr. Resta has authored the children’s book Believe in Katie Lynn. Prior to joining Chowan Pediatrics Dr. Resta was in practice in Monteagle, Tenn.

    Raid Abo Kamil, MD

    Dr. Raid Abo Kamil joined Chowan Pediatrics in the summer of 2008. He received his medical degree in 1997 and family practice residency in 2001 from the University of Graz in Austria. He completed his pediatric residency at the Marshfield Clinic-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. In addition to having more than 12 years of clinical medical experience, Dr. Kamil has one year of research experience at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. During this time, he has written for medical publications titled Imaging of Kidney Cancer and the Journal of Endourology. Dr. Kamil holds membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Medical Council of Austria and the British Medical Association.
