Multiple sclerosis was not going to rob Sherry Robinson of her independence. She took charge of her health with help from Vidant Wellness Center.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Sherry Robinson had one goal when she joined Vidant Wellness Center. She wanted to strengthen her legs so she could walk more independently and use her wheelchair less.

Joining the Wellness Center was a little intimidating for Sherry, who has multiple sclerosis. But after some encouragement, she realized there were some very kind team members at the Wellness Center who were more than willing to help her.

One team member in particular stands out to Sherry – group exercise instructor Roselyn McCoy. Roselyn and others helped Sherry access the Wellness Center pool. Roselyn even volunteered to work one-on- one with Sherry.

After working together about twice a week, Sherry noticed her legs had gotten stronger, and she was able to access the pool by the stairs. Now, she can even walk around the track on the exercise floor before getting in the pool.

Sherry owes her new love of walking and standing to Roselyn and her willingness to go above and beyond to help her achieve her exercise goals.
