5K/3.1 mile course within Ahoskie city limits.
Designed for runners and walkers ages 10 and older. 

Course has been certified by USA Track & Field.

     Children’s Fun Run $10
     Until September 1, 2017 $20
     Between September 2-23, 2017 $25

Children’s run
The Fun Run will begin at 9:00 am at the Ahoskie Amphitheater. Children 10 & under will run the circle (approximately 1/2 mile) and will be awarded a medal for completing the event. Registration for the fun run is $10 and includes a t-shirt.

Packet pick up
Packets include a bag, commemorative shirt and bib. Shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 to register. Packets can be picked up at Vidant Wellness Center- Ahoskie from noon - 8:00 pm on Friday, September 22nd or the morning of the race until 7:45 am.

Brackets of competition
Competition is divided into male and female of designated age brackets: 16 and under, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ overall open.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to division winners and top three in each age group. Open division winners will receive a *3-month membership certificate to Vidant Wellness Center. Age group winners will receive a one-month membership certificate to the Vidant Wellness Center. *Membership certificates are non-transferable.

Parking
Parking is recommended at the Ahoskie Creek Recreation area and taking the shuttle to Vidant Wellness Center. Event parking located at the corner of Camlin St. and Lakeview Dr.

Pre-Race shuttle bus
Shuttle service will be available to transport race participants from the finish line to the starting line. Shuttles begin at 7:00am and end at 7:45am. Shuttle loading area is located at the corner of Camlin St. and Lakeview Dr. near the parking area.

Child care
KidZone will be available to care for children age 3 months-12 years beginning at 7:30am. All children must be picked up by 10:00 am.

Check-in
Check-in table will be located outside and in front of Vidant Wellness Center. Check-in will occur from 7:00am-7:45am.

Location and course
Race begins at Vidant Wellness Center with the finish at the Ahoskie Creek Amphitheater where all the Heritage Day festivities are held. A course map may be obtained at the Vidant Wellness Center Service Desk or by e-mail from the race director, Jonathon Unger, at jsunger@VidantHealth.com.

Water/ First Aid/Security
Checkpoints will be stationed along the route with water and first aid. EMTs with fully equipped rescue units will be on-site. Town of Ahoskie Police Department will patrol the course.

Race time: 8:00 am
The race is scheduled to begin promptly at 8:00am. Runners/walkers may begin line up at the starting line at 7:45am. Race will take place rain or shine.
