Physical Disability

A physical disability is a condition that eliminates or limits a person’s physical function or mobility in some way. Some disabilities are present at birth; others begin later in life as a result of illness, injury or genetic disorder. Some result from progressive neuromuscular diseases.

In addition to physical disabilities such as limb loss or impairment or major organ damage, visual impairment (including blindness) and hearing loss (including total deafness) can also be considered physical disabilities.
