support groups

Becoming a parent is an exciting time, and Vidant Health is pleased to be able to offer you and your family support during this life event.

Tender Hearts

We offer a support group for families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. The group meets at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the Vidant Wellness Center on Stantonsburg Road in Greenville.  For more information, please call 252-847-4819 and leave a message.

Hopeful Beginnings

Adjusting to the emotional and physical changes following the birth of a baby can leave mothers feeling overwhelmed, isolated and exhausted. As many as 15-20% of new mothers can even develop anxiety and depression following the birth of their baby. There is help available  to cope with these feelings.

The Hopeful Beginnings Postpartum Support Program is designed to help you cope with these emotions and connect you with other mothers who are experiencing the same feelings. If you are interested in learning more about Hopeful Beginnings, please call 252-847-4819 to arrange a time to speak with an experienced health care professional who can assist you individually or in a small group with other mothers. Remember, you are not alone and we are here to help.

Please note — if you are in a crisis or emergency situation, call your healthcare provider or go to the nearest emergency room.

Breastfeeding support

A support group for all breastfeeding moms meets the third Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at Vidant Wellness Center, 2610 Stantonsburg Road, Greenville. Infants and children are welcome, and child care is available. For more information, call 252-847-7439.
