Your family and personal health history as well as your current habits can tell a lot about your risk for cancer. Experts estimate that at least one-third of the most common cancers can be prevented by lifestyle changes. In addition, cancer screenings make it possible to find and manage pre-cancerous cells and detect cancer earlier when it is more easily treatable. That means it's extremely important to know your risk, get regular cancer screenings and learn what you can do to stay healthy.

How it works

Our experienced team at the Cancer Prevention Clinic will work with you to develop a personalized plan to determine your risk, educate you on ways to reduce those risks and coordinate screenings and other exams.

Prior to your appointment, you will complete a cancer risk assessment. During your visit to the Cancer Prevention Clinic, a nurse practitioner will review your assessment, discuss your personal and family history and perform a physical exam. Appropriate cancer screenings will be performed and further tests or referral visits may be scheduled, depending on your particular situation.

The clinic focuses on several of the most common types of cancer, including:

  • breast cancer
  • cervical cancer
  • colorectal cancer
  • prostate cancer
  • skin cancer
  • lung cancer

Clinic Location

The clinic is located in Clinic A at Vidant Cancer Care at the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower. The address is 524 Moye Boulevard in Greenville, North Carolina.
