Update on visitation restrictions due to flu activity and viral respiratory illnesses

GREENVILLE, NC – Flu activity and viral respiratory illnesses are widespread in our community.

During this time of increased activity, we have the following visitation limitations:

1. Children under the age of 12 may not visit healthy newborns at any Vidant Health facility unless they live in the same household and do not have symptoms of a cold or flu, fever, diarrhea, vomiting or headaches.

2. Children under the age of 12 may not visit The James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

These limitations are temporary and will be removed as soon as flu and viral respiratory illnesses decrease in our community.

As always, family and visitors of any age should not come to the hospital if they have symptoms of a cold or flu, fever, diarrhea, vomiting or headaches.
