VidantNow launches app to enhance virtual access to doctors

July 17, 2018 posted by Erica Mizelle

Greenville, N.C. – Introducing the VidantNow app—the latest tool in Vidant Health’s suite of virtual care offerings.

VidantNow provides a way for anyone to see a board-certified doctor for non-emergency medical issues, anytime, anywhere, from any device. The app provides another option for easy and efficient access to care when using a mobile phone or tablet.

“We know it’s not always easy—or convenient—for someone to travel to an emergency room or to see a doctor in person, especially for things like pink eye, allergies or sore throats. We wanted to streamline the process and provide expert care where people need it, whether that’s at home, work or on the go,” said Anissa Davenport, chief strategic development and marketing officer for Vidant Health. “We’ve heard from people who have used the service that they find it very helpful, whether it’s been for themselves or for their child or elderly family member—especially after doctors’ offices are closed for the day.”

Virtual care doctors can diagnose, recommend treatment and if needed, prescribe medication to a patient’s preferred pharmacy. The cost is $49 per visit or less, depending on a person’s health insurance coverage.

Smartphone users can download the free VidantNow app from the App Store for Apple devices and from Google Play for Android.
