Vidant Health hosts advance care planning presentations around the region as part of National Health Care Decisions Day

April 03, 2017 posted by Amy Holcombe

GREENVILLE – Talking about end-of-life issues can be difficult. The best time to do this is now, because it always seems too early, until it’s too late. Vidant Health and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University are offering a wonderful opportunity to learn about the importance of completing an Advance Directive and having meaningful conversations about end-of-life preferences as part of advance care planning.

Join us at the feature event in Greenville to hear from Dr. Lucy Kalanithi, widow of the late Dr. Paul Kalanithi, author of the New York Times best seller, When Breath Becomes Air. She will reflect on their journey as Paul became both a doctor and a patient facing a terminal illness at the age of 36. Everyone is sure to be moved by their story and inspired to explore your own personal goals in living and dying well.

Vidant Health is also offering other free advance care presentations throughout the region including the opportunity to complete an Advance Directive. Free toolkits are available at
