May 27, 2017 by Amy Holcombe

GREENVILLE — The Vidant Health Board of Directors has announced the recipients of the Third Annual Board Quality Leadership Award. The winning teams from across the health system are leading the way to the ultimate goal of zero events of harm and exceptional experiences for every patient served. One winner was selected from each of these groups: Vidant Medical Center, Vidant Community Hospitals and the ambulatory setting.

“As a board, we felt like this was something we could do for our clinical teams that are working so hard to provide the best outcomes for patients,” said Lawrence Davenport chairman, Vidant Health Board of Directors. “There is a lot of good work happening across our system, and it needs to be recognized.”

Thirty nominations describing front-line improvement projects were reviewed.

“The board award committee was very impressed with the caliber of work that was outlined in the nominations and had a very difficult time determining the winners,” said Davenport.
