Vidant Medical Group adds to The Outer Banks Hospital oncology services

GREENVILLE— Dr. Timothy Cloninger has joined Vidant Medical Group and will continue providing radiation oncology services at The Outer Banks Hospital Radiation Therapy Center. 

Dr. Cloninger provides precision radiation treatments, image-guided radiation therapy, and offers treatments for cancers of the head, neck, prostate and breast. 

Dr. Cloninger earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1966. He did his residency in radiation therapy at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami, Florida in 1973 and his fellowship training in radiation therapy at Mt. Vernon Hospital in Norwood, England. He is board certified in radiation oncology. 

“I am happy to be a part of the Vidant Health family,” Cloninger said. “We have an outstanding staff and excellent equipment right here on the Outer Banks to provide radiation therapy close to home.”
