Vidant Health employees’ projects chosen for presentation

GREENVILLE – Six Vidant Health employees were selected to present abstracts and/or posters at conferences for their respective disciplines.

Dr. Robert Tanenberg, medical director, Inpatient Diabetes Program at Vidant Medical Center (VMC) and professor of medicine, division of endocrinology, Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University presented his poster demonstrating marked improvement in quality of care with patients being treated on EndoTool Glucose Management System.

The poster, co-authored by Sandra Hardee, VMC diabetes program manager, and titled “Use of a Computer-Guided Glucose Management System to Improve Glycemic Control and Address National Quality Measures: A 7-Year Retrospective Observational Study at a Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital,” was presented from June 10 – June 14 at the 76th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Renee Cherry, Cathy Bunch and Robin Duuring, professional development coordinators and Takisha Williams, a nursing education specialist, had their abstracts accepted for podium presentations at the upcoming 12th Annual South Eastern Nursing Staff Education Symposium (SENSES), Oct. 28-29 in Raleigh.

Cherry and Williams will be presenting “Critical Care Nurse Residency: The Chameleon Effect,” and Bunch and Duuring will be presenting “Are we there yet? Remapping Nursing Professional Development.”

Rosiland Buck, a nurse practitioner with Vidant Medical Group, was selected by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to present her abstract, Hematuria: What’s the big deal?, at the AANP 2016 National Conference.
