Three new providers join Vidant medical practices in Tarboro

TARBORO, NC – Tarboro and the surrounding region are being served by two new Vidant physicians and a nurse practitioner, bringing additional expertise in women’s care, internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr. Lisa M. Guyton has joined Vidant Women’s Care, offering obstetrics and gynecology. She specializes in routine obstetrics, pelvic surgery and general gynecology, including wellness exams and contraception. A native of eastern North Carolina, Dr. Guyton completed medical school and residency at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

“I am excited to begin my career at Vidant Women’s Center in Tarboro,” Dr. Guyton said. “I look forward to building relationships with the women of Tarboro and the surrounding area.”

Dr. Manisha Tiwari brings expertise in internal medicine and nephrology to Vidant Multispecialty Clinic in Tarboro.

Dr. Tiwari specializes in kidney disease, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances and blood pressure problems. She completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology, both at Metropolitan Hospital Center (New York Medical College) in New York City. There she conducted research in kidney diseases.

“I am proud to serve the people of Tarboro,” Dr. Tiwari said, “and to be a part of Vidant.”

Courtney Greene, a nurse practitioner, has also joined Vidant Multispecialty Clinic, serving the cardiology division. Her areas of interest are heart failure, diabetes, coronary disease and blood pressure issues.

A native of Lenoir County and graduate of East Carolina University College of Nursing, Ms. Greene understands the health needs of eastern North Carolina. She completed her master’s in nursing and earned nurse practitioner certification at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, she served more than seven years as a cardiac intensive care nurse at Vidant Medical Center.

“Heart failure became a passion of mine in the development of my nursing career, and I am excited to continue my work with Vidant by providing quality care to the eastern North Carolina community,” Ms. Greene said.
