Vidant Health Board Quality Leadership Award winners recognized

The 2020 Vidant Health Board Quality Leadership Award winners were recognized at the Vidant Health Board of Directors meeting on May 26. These winning teams are shining examples of excellent work in driving the quality goal of zero harm, creating exceptional experiences and improving patient outcomes.

In order to be considered for the award, team members were required to submit projects that demonstrated at least two of the following:

  • Quantifiable improvement in an organizational quality priority with sustained excellence over time
  • Demonstrable empathy and compassion in patient care
  • Implementation of innovative solution to patient care problem
  • Community outreach that addresses social determinants of health in a meaningful way

Nine nominations were reviewed by the committee. Congratulations to the winning teams:

  • Vidant Beaufort Hospital: “Improved Care for our Aging Population” was selected to for their work in reducing falls and achieving Dementia Friendly Status at Vidant Beaufort.
     
  • Vidant Medical Center: “Running with Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement” was for their work to improve the quality outcomes of patients with total joint replacements.
     
  • The Outer Banks Medical Group and the Vidant Medical Group: “Blood Pressure in Control” teamed together and was selected for their work to recognize and manage patients with high blood pressure.

Thank you to all the nominees for their hard work and dedication to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina.
