Other Vidant Health emergency locations
Every Vidant Health hospital has a 24-hour Emergency Department with a dedicated team of professionals ready to provide immediate care.

When to call 9-1-1 or go to the ER
Examples of emergency medical conditions include the following:

  • Chest pain that may be heart related, especially if you have a personal or family history of heart disease
  • Pregnancy complications, problems or bleeding
  • Stroke symptoms, including facial droop, trouble lifting arms or difficulty talking or walking

In an emergency, such as a stroke or heart attack, getting immediate care is critical. Coming to the Minor Emergency Department first does not help patients get treated in the Emergency Department faster. In fact, it may only delay necessary treatment.
