New Mask Requirements

For the safety of all team members, patients and visitors, surgical masks are required for all team members and visitors in clinical areas, for team members in all food preparation and food service areas, and strongly encouraged in all other areas.

The masks will be provided at the team member and visitor screening stations upon the start of shift or entering the facility.

Please send additional questions regarding masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ppequestions@vidanthealth.com. We will provide answers to your questions through the Vidant Alerts and MyVidant.org as soon as the information becomes available.

How you can help flatten the curve

Effective immediately, all Vidant Wellness Center locations (Greenville, Ahoskie and Washington) are temporarily closed for center member and guest services until further notice. The Wellness Centers will instead be used to help provide child care for team members.

All hospital dining locations will have only carryout items and will no longer provide seating, in alignment with the Governor’s request to limit reduce the congregating of persons to no more than ten people.

Relaxed Parking is in effect until further notice. In addition to the parking areas listed below, ECU is allowing overflow relaxed parking in lots SM-5 and SM-6, only. These lots, near the corner of Moye and Fifth Street, are identified on this map. All other ECU lots are off limits unless you have a parking permit issued by ECU Parking and Transportation. Among others, the Brody Outpatient and ECHI@ECU lots are NOT included. Parking in unapproved lots will result in ticketing and/or towing by ECU Parking and Transportation.

Team members may find appropriate parking in the following areas (see the map here for details):

  • Parking is always available in Lots B-3 and B-4
  • Early-bird parking is always available in Lot B-2 for those arriving between midnight and 5 a.m.
  • Relaxed parking is available in Doctors’ Park
  • Relaxed Parking is available in Lots B-1 and B-5
  • Relaxed parking is available in Lots A-2 and A-3 located near Venture Towers and Financial Services on the East side of campus
  • Relaxed parking is available in Lot E-5, directly in front of the Pediatric and Orthopedic facilities
  • Rehabilitation buildings, facing Stantonsburg Road
  • East and west team members can cross zones during Relaxed Parking
  • New parking area added near the ECU Division of Health Sciences. Review the parking map here.

To support of our collaborative COVID-19 response, ECU Parking has offered additional relaxed parking options to Vidant team members.

Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday, all available ECU Health Sciences parking is open to Vidant team members. Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, only the ECU lots along Moye Boulevard (outlined in red on the map) are open to Vidant team members.

Please note: ECU Physicians clinics are still open to patients, and it is imperative that we follow their guidelines for spaces they are providing. Please avoid parking in clinic areas during the day as this impedes their ability to serve patients.

Team members not parking in appropriate areas will be contacted by VMC Parking Management to move their vehicle to an approved location.

Please do not park in any space that is designated for a specific use unless you are qualified to use it.
(Ex. Handicapped Parking, Patient Parking) Parking areas not specifically included in this announcement are not part of Relaxed Parking.
Note: the F-1 lot behind the Cancer Center is not included in Relaxed Parking.

COVID-19 continues to spread across the country and into eastern North Carolina. These COVID-19-positive patients require our clinical team’s full attention and are highly infectious.

Upon guidance from our physician leaders, Vidant Health will suspend all non-essential procedures beginning March 20, 2020.

By suspending these non-urgent surgeries, Vidant will be prepared to care for the growing COVID-19 patient population in the East, reduce the risk of infection to patients and team members and ensure Vidant continues to have the necessary PPEs, staffing, space and equipment to manage the acuity and numbers of patients.

Leadership will continue to monitor resource availability and infection risks to determine when to resume normal operations.
