Say Hello to Vidant Health.
Vidant Health is a system of care; 11,000 employees strong, hundreds of primary care physicians and specialists and 10 hospitals, including an academic medical center in Greenville. Vidant Health serves 1.4 million people across 29 counties of eastern North Carolina.
Formerly known as University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, Vidant Health has grown and evolved in the past 14 years. This next step in our evolution is to build a new brand identity to communicate that we are an integrated system of care committed to making high quality health care available close to home.
The flagship hospital is Vidant Medical Center, formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital (PCMH). The health system we celebrate today evolved from PCMH becoming a regional referral center, now renamed to align with the Vidant Health system of care.
Another noticeable name change is Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, which has served Tarboro for years.
While we have a new name, our committment and mission to eastern Carolina remains the same; to enhance the quality of life for the people and communities we serve, touch and support.
