How to Read Your Bill

This sample shows a hospital bill detailing the amount you owe to the hospital that provided services to you. It is clearly labeled "Hospital Bill."  In this case, the bill shows how much your  insurance has already paid and the balance you are responsible for. If you do not have health insurance, the "description of services" area would detail all of the charges you have incurred.
